Winners will receive the following:
A certificate of achievement, presented to them in an official ceremony by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge, Stephen Toope
Tailored support to develop their social action skills from the Cambridge Hub
All you need to do, whether nominating yourself or someone else, is complete a quick nomination form by 23:59 on Thursday 17th January 2019, whichyou can find here.
Nomination Criteria
Anyone - whether student, University staff, or someone not associated with the University at all - can nominate someone for a Vice-Chancellor’s Social Impact Award. However, Awards are given only to students currently matriculated at the University of Cambridge, of any year or course.
We are looking for any students who have demonstrated leadership, ongoing commitment, passion and proven social impact. There is no specification about where the student's project(s) is(are) and when it(they) took place, however the panel often prefers to see evidence of recent Cambridge or UK impact.
Applicants are not told who has nominated them, but you are welcome to let them know yourself or to remain anonymous!
The Application Process
A nomination is submitted by the applicant, on on the applicant's behalf, by 23:59 on Thursday 17th January 2019. The nomination form is quick and can be completed here.
Nominees will be contacted to congratulate them on their nomination, and asked to submit some further details on the socially impactful activities that they were nominated for.
The Cambridge Hub will use this to then short-list candidates, and invite them to interview in order to learn more about them.
The information from the application and interview will be put in front of the panel, made up of senior representatives from the University and local community, who will decide on the winners!
The Awards event will be held on February 5th 2019.
